Vibration Damping of Punch Presses.

An empirical relationship between the static deflection of the mountings and the resultant insertion loss has been found. The vibration reduction is usually, in the practical case, 10-15 dB. This is much less than calculated from the simple mass-spring model. The influence of the properties of the floor on the magnitude of the vibrations are discussed and a method to compare the suitability of different points of location is presented.
