In the reported experiments, the behavior of the microcomponents of the vitrinite and fusinite groups of Donets coals has been studied by the derivatographic method with a uniform rise of temperature (25-800 degree C) in the air and in an inert atmosphere. It has been shown that the oxidation reactions of the vitrinites are accompanied by a large heat effect and they are characterized by lower temperatures of the beginning of pronounced evolution of heat and lower ignition temperatures then the fusinites. The oxidation activity of the petrographic components of hard coals falls with an increase in their rank. Fusinites are less subject to destruction under the influence of high temperatures and practically do not cake, but small amounts of them added to vitrinite concentrates promote the formation of a plastic mass.
