摘要
Results of numerical and experimental studies are given for structural strength of a spherical segment made of glass affected by external hydrostatic pressure. The stress-strained state and the limit load-carrying capacity power of the system are studied as affected by the structure of the glass element joint with the stiff metal bedplate. A possibility to use a rationally designed joint assembly is discussed for a single short-time and repeated static application of external load. The designed spherical glass segment structure with a new type of joint is advisable for application.
