Sweden buys two Saab 340BPlus aircraft

Sweden's FMV (Defence Materiel Administration) has ordered two Saab 340BPlus aircraft from Saab Aircraft Leasing (SAL) to replace its three remaining Beech 200 King Air communications aircraft. SAL has contracted Saab Aircraft in Linköping to completely overhaul both aircraft, as well as incorporate new modifications to FMV requirements. Delivery of both 30-seat turboprops is scheduled for this year. One aircraft will be stationed with F21 wing in Luleå and the other with F17 wing in Kallinge. Both will be used for transportation of personnel both within Sweden and throughout Europe. The Swedish Defence Forces currently operate one Saab 340B for 'Open Sky' operations as well as six Saab 340B-AEW (S 100B Argus) aircraft. © 2005 Jane's Information Group. All rights reserved.
