Polytetrafluoroethylene, an engineering plastic noted for its low coefficient of fraction, has become the material of choice for solving wear-related problems in a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications. Its unique chemical, electrical, thermal and surface characteristics make this plastic ideally suited for a number of industrial applications, especially those in which metal-to-metal contact generates frictional forces that cause unacceptable wear and premature component failure.
