Methylenedianiline (MDA)/octaglycidyl (OG) resins were compared with the commercial resin diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA). It was found that OG/MDA resins are not as strong as the DGEBA resin, although their toughness appears to be essentially equivalent. It was also noted that OG/MDA resins are too ductile to show fracture in the single-edge notch.
