This study has three objectives: 1) to highlight the dimensions of the world food problem, especially in developing countries; 2) to assess the potential role of fertilizer in solving the food problem; and 3) to outline some of the research conducted by international centers to accelerate the potential of fertilizer in solving food problems in the developing world.
