Different analytical techniques, used for evaluation of multilayer flexible laminations employed in packaging applications, are critically assessed, and it is shown that differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) complements IR spectroscopy to give a very rapid qualitativ e and quantitative analysis of most packaging materials without their delamination. DSC procedure is described in detail and scope of its application is pointed out.
