Energy Storage and Management in Electricity Supply Systems.

This paper examines the most important changes in the field of power plant operation and in environmental protection in the last 10 years and considers future prospects for existing and new techniques of energy storage and energy management in the United States. The paper, in summary form, offers an insight into possible future techniques for energy storage and energy management and examines what generating outputs are affected and how new techniques can be applied in order to balance and control these outputs more effectively, if vital technical decisions on energy storage and energy management are to be taken by operators and their customers on the basis of the results of research and development achieved hitherto.
