Studies were performed on a special installation concerning the processes of melting free-flowing materials in the presence of a one-sided heat input. This installation makes it possible to obtain qualitative and quantitative information concerning the melting of free-flowing materials characteristic of reverberatory furnaces in a wide range of change in the parameters.
