Impact parameter dependence of proton energy loss straggling in inert gases

摘要
In the paper are presented results of calculations of straggling of proton energy losses in inert gases by means of the semiclassical approximation in the first order of the perturbation theory with exact summation over final atomic states. The calculations are carried out for the mean square of energy losses in dependence on the impact parameter for collisions of protons at the energies of 100 keV and 1 MeV with Ne, Kr and Xe atoms. The results obtained show that the main contribution in the straggling is conditioned by high-energy transitions connected with inner shells of atoms.
