The industrial adoption of the method of producing calcined pitch coke was characterized by an initial calcination stage with a supply of air and a subsequent stage with simultaneous supply of air and coke oven gas. The principal design and operating indices of the PCDQU are presented. It is found that the calcination regime affects the composition of the circulating gas. An increase in the consumption of coke oven gas leads to an increase in the concentration of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and methane in the circulating gas. The change in the mean concentration of combustible substances in the circulating gas is shown in a change in the supply of coke oven gas for calcination. The gas composition was obtained at a flow of air to calcination of 1000-1800 m**3/hr and a supply of nitrogen to the gas system of 300 m**3/hr.
