Barium nitrate crystal as an effective Raman medium for near-IR lasers

The investigation of the SRS in barium nitrate crystal was based on well developed Nd lasers as pump sources, working at 1.064, 1.079, 1.318 and 1.338 μm and tunable LiFF and LiFF MALSAN 203 or center laser. The wavelengths of laser oscillation obtained under these pumping from barium nitrate Raman shifter can cover spectral region from 1.0 to 1.6 μm. SRS scattering was investigated using crystals with different length form 20 to 80 mm placed inside and outside of YAG:Nd cavity.
