The Subsea Oil Loading System - 'Sols' - developed in Germany has now been tested in prototype. The tests were conducted in Norway at Nutec in 120 m water depth. The project which is reviewed in this article was sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology in Germany, the Commission of European Communities and the Norwegian companies Kosmos A/S and Saga Petroleum A/S.
