Detailed mathematical and theoretical investigation of the influence of some design and operational parameters on the characteristics of heat transfer is of practical importance in finding the points of most probable slagging of the furnace chamber and in taking measures to improve operational reliability of the boiler. For such investigations a mathematical model of heat transfer has been developed and realised on a digital computer on the basis of one of the approaches of the zonal methods. Results are given of a zonal method used to investigate heat transfer aspects in the combustion chamber of a boiler.
