摘要
The traditional material used for the consender tubes of estuarine generating stations was aluminium brass. A small quantity of cupro-nickel tubes was also used. User experience with these materials over a number of years is reviewed. Based on this experience, predictions are made of the expected condenser tube failure rate. A cost-benefit analysis is made based on the loss of electrical output to be expected due to condenser tube leaks when using aluminium brass against the cost of tubing the same condenser with titanium. The parameters used in the calculations are cited and discussed.
