The change involved the switch from the commonly-used procedure of ground-level and angle blasting to the terraced, plateau-blasting to the terraced, plateau-blasting method. The crushed limestone feeds onto the conveyor system at a rate of 907 t per hour and flows directly into enclosed hopper cars.
