A newsprint mill was expected to be constructed in Mexico by Organizacion Editorial Mexicana (OEM). Apart from the newsprint plans, OEM made its first foray into the packaging sector by acquiring Empaques Ponderosa for $285 million. OEM is among the largest news publishers with over 60 newspaper titles, printing companies, radio stations and a television station.
