New Headquarters For the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hague.

The building has a cruciform plan set upon a grid which is oriented diagonally relative to the available lot. The project is characterized by the stepped profile of the office blocks, by the flexibility of the interior space suitable for different requirements, by the limited height in order to suit the surroundings and by the optimal ratio between usable space and global available space. The structure is composed by many precast components assembled on site using yard equipment. The facade units consist of white cement concrete: the balcony elements are strengthened with glass fibers whereas the column units are precast traditionally. 11,000 components of 1,500 different shapes were used and precast with 60 steel and 100 wood formworks.
