摘要
It is well identified experimentally that one of the main causes of excess attenuation in braided coaxial cables at microwave frequencies in the variable contact-effects (i. e. , contact-resistance and contact-capacitance) between the braid-tapes or -wires. In the work described here, a simplified braid model associated fundamentally with contact-effects only (with exception of any other important loss factors such as electromagnetic radiation through braided outer conductors) has been proposed and the theoretical estimations obtained from this model have been compared with various experimental results. Order of magnitude agreement between the theoretical and the experimental results has been achieved, which was as much as could have been expected.
