摘要
The application of aluminum matrix composites with high specific Young's modulus is one way for weight saving in aircraft structures. Static and dynamic mechanical properties of extruded profiles from MMC are discussed. For 6113T6/25%SiC, the Young's modulus is higher than 110 GPa. Yield strength and tensile strength of this material are better than those of the nonreinforced 6013T6 material. The corrosion behavior of the aluminum alloys is not deteriorated by the addition of SiC particles. Possible applications of MMC parts in civil aircraft structures could be struts and stringers.
