摘要
New materials are being used to fabricate various components of vertical transportation systems. While steel remains the most often used material, it is being set aside in favor of other materials, especially in cases where friction makes the warming of steel unacceptable, and where cost and resistance to vandalism and corrosion are key considerations. Among the new materials being used in elevators, those that stand out are polymers. Polymers are very light and are able to provide excellent performance regarding corrosion and attacks of environmental agents. They also have high resistance to traction and compression, bending, cut and resistance to impact.
