Chemical models of UV-initiated ATP photosynthesis involve the conditions under which paramagnetic compounds are generated. For revealing the leading free radical intermediate, the corresponding experimental EPR spectra are analyzed employing computer modeling. The results show high probability for existence of stretched hydrogen and deuterium pairs in frozen phosphate solutions, that is essential for reaction mechanism analysis.
