摘要
New developments in deposit-control agents, pretreatment methods, and silica-removal techniques that allow cooling towers to operate at higher cooling-water cycles are described. Increased cooling tower water cycles can reduce raw water makeups, yearly internal treatment costs, plant effluent rates, and blowdowns. Economic incentive alone gives justification for serious consideration of cooling-tower users to implement the new procedures.
