Concentration of Stresses Accompanying the Bending of Thick Plates with Infinite Series of Cavities.

A solution is obtained for a plate, with periodically situated transverse cylindrical cavities, when it is strained by forces at infinity. Concentration of stresses in the vicinity of cavities is investigated numerically for different relative thicknesses and different distances between the cavities when it is bent along and across the center lines of the cavities. The problem of the error of the solution of the classical Kirchhof theory in the zone of boundary effects is discussed.
