摘要
A study was made of the dependence of the corrosion protection properties of a titanium-palladium surface alloy obtained by the method of polyenergetic implantation of Pd+ ions in titanium on the character of the palladium distribution in the surface layers of the titanium. It was established that to maintain a titanium surface alloyed by palladium ions in the passive state for a long time, the ions should function not only as a catalyst for the cathodic hydrogen-evolution reaction, but also as an electron donor in the passivating semiconducting oxide formed on the surface of titanium in a corrosive medium. Corrosion tests were conducted in 20% H2SO4 at 100° C.
