PRECALCINATION FOR BURNING LINE CONVERSION.

Precalcination is a vital tool in converting cement plants because up to threefold increases in kiln capacities can be achieved. The advantages are: better burning stability; quick start-up and restart; energy savings; shorter cycles in the kiln; reduced SO//3 and NO//x release, and longer kiln lining life. In each conversion case, CLE has conceived and applied the solution best suited to the characteristics of the existing unit and to the requirements of the operator. Its experience covers all precalcination design and layout types, i. e. simplified precalcination with or without an external combustion air duct, reinforced suspension system (RSP) precalcination to be installed in an existing preheater, precalcination for either an existing preheater or a new preheater to be built, or for both of them.
