Axisymmetric damped frequencies of a rotating finite visco-elastic liquid column

A solidly rotating cylindrical visco-elastic liquid bridge of finite length is subjected to an axial disturbance. The natural damped axisymmetrical frequencies are determined for anchored contact lines. Instability appears at the same aspect ratio as it does in frictionless and viscous liquid. While in a viscous liquid instability appears in a purely aperiodic motion (diverging instability), it occurs in the same root, which for small h/a ratios again shows its ability to oscillate. A more visco-elastic liquid oscillates much more easily and for longer than a viscous one.
