Evaporation of an aerosol particle under the effect of radiation

The theory of the quasi-staionary evaporation process of a droplet suspended in a vapour-gas mixture under a unilateral optic radiation effect is studied and taking into consideration the optical, thermophysical and kinetic properties of the droplet and the gaseous phase. Radiation absorption and thermal distribution inside the particle are considered on basis of the Mie theory. Thermal distribution is described by a nonuniform heat conductivity equation. Results obtained show that the droplet evaporation velocity value as a function of the efficiency factor of the radiation absorption. Variation of the radiation wavelength and measuring evaporation rate changes also makes it possible to determine refraction and absorption indexes.
