The cracking character of the turbine castings made of 15Kh1MFL steel was studied after use during 95,000 h at the steam temperature of 540-550 degree C and steam pressure of 13 MPa. Structural changes are found under the effect of higher temperatures and stresses. The nature of metal faults has been established and the causes of cracking have been determined. Recommendations to decrease cracking in the turbine castings are given.
