摘要
The development of the Heye melter had its origin in the Unit Melter produced in the USA during the 1950s, when the primary energy costs were relatively low. However, since electricity was at that time relatively expensive in Europe Heye decided to install a waste heat boiler on the melter and use the steam produced to operate steam turbines. As energy prices increased the furnace system was developed further, the primary energy requirement being decreased by installation of recuperators, subsequent development led to the introduction of the Obernkirchen Furnace C. This furnace is fitted with recuperators which perheat combustion air to 800 degree C and the gas fuel to 500 degree C. The waste heat boiler has a maximum output of 9 t/h at 30 bar and 450 degree C.
