摘要：

Diecasters are aware of the need to increase die life and decrease die maintenance costs, as well as to increase process productivity by shortening shot cycle times for example. The strong influence of crucial die material properties on these factors is discussed in this article and the importance of premium die steel is demonstrated. Also discussed is the role of the die material regarding short cycle times and a new die steel which offers beneficial effects on all these factors.
