摘要
The article describes the design of a phase-angle meter, which is cheap and capable of indicating the phase-angle accurately from 90 degree lagging to 90 degree leading. The present design is an improvement of the authors' earlier work and gives a linear output with the phase-angle phi from 90 degree lagging to 90 degree leading. Since solid state devices are used the power consumption of the instrument is very small ( similar mW) and hence it serves the purpose without creating any perturbation in the circuits to which it is connected. In the input side the instrument requires two voltage sources, reference and signal, and hence to measure the power factor of a load the current is to be transformed into a voltage source (e. g. by resistive drop method) and fed to the signal input, and voltage to the reference input. 15 refs.
