The heat transfer of a sample surface with a metal-fibre porous coating in the boiling of water was investigated. metal-fibre coatings are distinguished by good structural and hydrodynamic characteristics and also by relative simplicity of preparation. The experiments consists in gradual increase in the energy supplied, up to the critical value for the given sample, measurement of the temperature difference with a steady value of the heat-flux density, and determination of the heat-transfer coefficients.
