The behavior of the average energy release of showers in the cells of hadron and photon scintillation calorimeters as a function of the distance between the center of the cell and the coordinate of the point of entry of a shower initiating particle with an energy of 3 Gev is studied. The experimental relations are compared with the radial distributions - calculated by the Monte Carlo method - of shower energy release integrated over the entire depth of the calorimeter and over the region occupied by the cell. Specifications of cells are obtained whose designs provide the basis for an axial light-collection system with cylindrical light-guide spectrum shifters using light reemission for output and summation of the light signals from the scintillators.
