TONGUE-SHAPED MEASUREMENT USING PIEZOELECTRIC THIN FILM.

It is important in the analysis of the speech generation process to measure the harmonization of the tongue. However, the traditional methods involve various problems. In this study, it is shown that the curvature of the electrode can be measured by the voltage generated by the piezoelectric film, and an algorithm was derived which can estimate the shape from the curvature function. The shape-measuring system using the piezoelectric film was proposed. The median and the frontal shape of the tongue were measured. As a result, the change of the tongue shape was measured during the utterance of vowels and consonants, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed method. 9 Refs.
