This study contains experimental data of original studies devoted to the mechanism of mass transfer during sublimation of ice in disperse rock material during its interaction with the air flow. An estimate is given of the rate of sublimation of ice, as well as on rate of travel and thickness of the sublimation zone as a function of the grain sizes, total initial humidity, cryogenic texture, dimensions and quantity of pores in the soil at different air flow velocities. Interesting data are presented on the vertical distribution of moisture in frozen soil specimens pointing to differences in the moisture transfer mechanism on sublimation of ice in finely and roughly grained rock material.
