摘要
A former colliery area in the north-west corner of Telford New Town, Shropshire - the largest remaining area of derelict land in the county - has been intensively investigated by consultants commissioned to study its problems and potential. The consultants selected to undertake this work were Eardley Goss Associates as landscape architects and planning consultants supported by Ward, Ashcroft and Parkman, consulting engineers and John Long and Associates, economic development planners. The consultants were asked to assess the potential of the area for a comprehensive land reclamation scheme incorporating coal recovery, providing for the waste disposal needs of the Wrekin District and assessing the future land use opportunities for the whole area.
