The weak trend in woodfree order inflow is discussed in correlation to European markets. Despite a 10.7% increase in the first quarter of year 2000, the uncoated woodfree is reported to rise by just 4.7% for the first 10 months of year 2000. The declining woodfree order combined with easing pulp supply pointed towards building pressure on paper prices in the months to follow.
