Heat emission and resistance of double-layer tube bundles

The structure and advantages of the double-layer tubes applied in heat exchangers for boilers were considered. The results of bench-scale experimental studies of the tube bundle thermal and aerodynamic characteristics were analyzed. It was shown that the effect of tube profile on heat transfer was determined by the bundle pitch parameters. The best characteristics belonged to tube bundles with pitch ratio S1/S2=2.21. The conclusion was made that thermal and aerodynamic characteristics of double-layer tube bundles were close to those for smooth tube bundles.
