Operating results of flue gas desulfurization system for unit Nos. 1& 2 (500 MW each) of Shin-Onoda Power Station of the Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc.

The Nos. 1 and 2 units of the flue gas desulfurization system for the coal fired utility boilers were completed at the Shin-Onoda Power Station of The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. in April 1986 and January 1987, respectively. Since then, they have been continuing commercial operation successfully. As a result of the first annual maintenance shut down for unit No. 1, it was revealed that there was scarcely scaling and merely simple maintenance work was required in preparation for the scheduled second year's operation.
