摘要
Infrared absorption measurements allow the concentrations of specific liquids and gases to be measured. When infrared light-emitting-diode (LED) sources are employed, the infrared monitor can be made compact, low-powered and stable, and therefore suitable for portable applications. The characteristics and advantages of LED technology are discussed, and examples are given of commercial instruments developed to measure moisture in oil and cabon dioxide in air.
