摘要：
The method of finite elements (MFE) is an effective means for analysis of the three-dimensional designs of engineering equipment. In recent years, MFE has been used to calculate the strength of the three-dimensional designs of boiler units. Several stages in calculating a boiler housing by the method of finite elements are outlined. A rectangular finite element of a shell, allowing for orthotropy of the material and the temperature field is considered.
