摘要
In introductory mechanics courses it is often necessary to know the geometric properties of some irregular figure. The quantities of interest are the area, centroids (first moments of area), and the second moments of area. In the process of developing a series of demonstration programs for the introductory Mechanics of Materials course an interactive program was written which would allow the instructor to determine the geometric properties of an arbitrary figure using an Apple microcomputer.
