MECHANISM FOR COLLECTION OF COKE ENDS.

The design of coke battery ovens does not exclude falling of the coke ends on the service platforms when the doors are removed. They are usually thrown into the oven manually after pushing the coke. The new design for an ejection-type mechanism has undergone successful bench testing. Using this design as a basis, a device was developed. The coke ends collector mechanism is installed on the working platform of the coke pusher between the pusher bar and the door extractor device. The mechanism is kinematically simple, easy to control and reliable. For normal operation of the device it is necessary for the service platforms to meet the specifications of the safety rules for coking plants and to be equipped with inclined brushes betwen between the anchor columns, the service platform and the lower ribs of the coke oven frames. When these conditions are met the quality of collection is good (90-95%).
