Specific features of phase transitions in the ″transcritical″ region of pressures for liquid fuel are considered. The effect of intensification of drop evaporation with an increase in pressure of the surrounding gas is physically substantiated. Analytical relations characterizing the drop evaporation dynamics are obtained and checked with the aid of an extensive experimental material. Acceptability of quasiequilibrium diffusion theory under the conditions of ″transcritical″ evaporation of fuel is confirmed.
