Saws and abrasive cut-off machines have assumed greater prominence as machine tools have become more expensive. This report looks at some of the latest developments in saving and cutting off with emphasis on power hacksaws, cold saw development, and abrasive wheel cut-off machines. Problems associated with the provision of greater accuracy in the cut-off length and with full automation of sawing machine installations are also discussed.
