摘要
A complete compilation system is presented which is table-driven for lexical analysis, parsing, error recovery, semantic analysis and code generation. The parser is controlled by a list-oriented action table which provides encodings for set selection, symbol comparison and operator precedence specification. Any parser can be ″tuned″ using this methodology to improve space or speed performance. The error recovery method uses a cost-driven, depth-first search technique to implement insertion correction. The code generation tables encode peephole optimization and resource allocation information and control instruction, listing and object module generation.
