The laboratory sewage sludge drying test complements the parameters normally used to assess the dewaterability of sewage sludge, i. e. specific resistance to filtration and capillary suction time, CST. The drying test can elucidate the fundamental effects of various conditioning operations on the dewatering characteristics of sludges, and it is a useful aid in predicting full-scale mechanical dewatering operations.
