The ageing kinetics of an alloy containing 38. 5at. % Zn is investigated. Ageing in the range 760 to 920 degree C involves continuous precipitation. Different methods are used to calculate the activation energy of volume diffusion which limits the growth rate of the particles of precipitated beta (or beta //1 phase). The Avrami kinetics of this reaction is studied.
